Economy Transfer Procedure:

This is ideal for the customer who simply wants all their music archived and who then
plans to transfer the song files directly to their computer (Windows Media Player or
iTunes for instance) and from there, onto their MP3 device.

It is also ideal choice for those who just have so many Lps/Cassettes/8 TrackTapes
needing to be digitalized that the Standard Transfer Service is simply not an
economically viable option at this time.

With cassettes we visually inspect the mechanism to ensure that there are no visibly
detectable issues: missing felt pads, twisted tape, broken or cracked case, etc..

8 Track Tapes are inspected for melted rollers, squishy foam pressure pads, missing felt
pressure pads, dirt and grit, etc..

As with the Standard Transfer Service, your vinyl Lp/45 is cleaned twice: first using the
Disc Washer D-4 System and then a second time with Gruv Glide which not only cleans,
but also removes static build-up and actually lubricates the vinyl. This stuff is fantastic!

We play each side of your Lp/45
once and once only when we digitalize it. If there is a
pervasive skip, we may have to play a particular afflicted section several times until it
tracks.

Your vinyl is then recorded and digitized (we use either our Luxman PD 272 direct drive
turntable mounted with Grado Gold cartridge, or our Marantz 6300 direct drive mounted
with a Clearaudio Aurum Classic cartridge) through a audiophile professional grade
phono pre-amp (the Bellari VP 129 tube pre-amp) and state of the art external USB sound
card onto a computer hard drive (Western Digital).

The songs are then divided by hand into individual tracks/songs and labelled with each
track title corresponding to an individual song.

Your new song files are then burned either to CD or to DVD (for additional savings
depending on the size of the collection) in the file format requested (WAV, AIFF, AAC or
MP3). If you choose to have your archive MP3 stored on DVD instead of CD, you will
save $1 for each CD we save by using a DVD.

Basic customer and order information and, of course, our logo (
vinylhaven.com) is
printed
directly onto each CD/DVD via thermal ink transfer (not onto a paper sticker/label
which can bubble, peel off and likely shorten the life of your CD/DVD archive (and all too
likely the life of a slot-loading CD player).

Finally we print a basic (yet elegant) black and white CD insert label with customer and
order information on it. A corresponding list of each song--artist, title and album--is
provided on a separate attached sheet.  Your newly digitized recordings are placed in a
high quality clear slim-line CD case.
