Let's suppose you have a box of 8 tracks in your attic. You love all your 8 track tapes (we
at Vinylhaven love them too) but you don't have a deck to play them on anymore. All that
great music and all those great memories just collecting dust, or worse:
rapidly
deteriorating
!

Let Vinylhaven restore your 8 track collection before it's too late! Not to sound
alarmist
or anything, but--

A lot of things can and do go wrong with 8 tracks as they age: rollers melt, foam pressure
pads disintegrate, tape oxidizes, flakes or binds; the metallic splice can break. We've
seen it all. Most of these tapes are over 30 years old! Put that all that great music on CD
today (before its too late...).

Another thing: don't listen to all those nattering nabobs of negativism who love to go on
and on and on about how 8 track technology deserved to go the way of bell-bottoms
and mood rings.

8 track technology may be, well, let's just say
controversial.  But there is great music to
had on your old tapes. And don't forget: they weren't cheap either! Let the 8 track
friendly folks at Vinylhaven transfer, restore and preserve all that great music from those
precious tapes.

And then once we're done restoring all those groovy tunes, then go and auction those
tapes on eBay! Or go to 8 Track Mind and trade 'em.

Vinylhaven uses a newly refurbished Akai with a glass/ferrite tape head for our 8 track
transfers. This machine was state of the art back in 1971 and pulls the BEST POSSIBLE
signal off those tapes. It's a superior machine (and the thing weighs a TON!) and the
sound is fantastic even before we apply any software restoration. You just won't believe
how great we can make your 8 tracks sound.

If your 8 tracks have bad pads or melted rollers or broken splices, please do me and
yourself a favor and contact
Dan and Kathy Gibson at Kate's Track Shack. They can
diagnose and repair your 8 tracks.

If we are unable to restore any of the tapes you send us, we can discuss and figure out a
solution to get them rolling and get that music for you!
A song called Eclipse from an old John Denver tape Back Home Again from the mid 1970s. Some nice
folk textures here.

I may have grown up in NYC, but everyday I wake up and
I thank God I'm a Country Boy.

Another genre popular when 8 track tapes ruled the earth: jazz fusion...

George Benson. A guitar God. See what Vinylhaven did to get this great recording to sound even GREATER!

Gamble & Huff Philly soul from the mid 1970s. Philadelphia International Records--Super Stuff. The O'Jays.
Put your hands together!

Take a listen.

Sabbath. Sabotage. 8th grade. Fall of 1975.

What the heck was I thinking listening to
Black Sabbath when all my friends were listening to 'tasteful' rock
bands like....Loggins & Messina...New Riders of the Purple Sage...Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Further proof that smoking oregano kills brain cells. Let's not dwell on this.

After King Crimson and before Asia there was...U.K. a late '70s progressive-rock super-group.

Check out the before and after. Here we have Edwin Jobson laying down some very cool synthesiser
textures to complement some very tasty classical style 12 string guitar work care of jazz fusion guitar God
Allan Holdsworth (late of Tony Williams' band Lifeline).

Admirable restraint exercised by drummer extraordinaire Bill Bruford.

Styx' The Grand Illusion. This is not my tape. I swear I was sent this as part of a large 8 track collection a
customer from Belgium wanted transferred and restored. Really!

I have to admit, there's lots of pretty cool mini Moog (or is it an ARP?) synthesiser textures on this track.
Okay. So I like these guys.
I sing Lady every time I do karaoke down at the Dancing Crab (Thursday Nights).

From the guys who brought us The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction Themes and of course
their boisterous instrumental 'Foggy Mountain Breakdown' from
Bonnie and Clyde. On this track
they get kinda high and lonesome.

Give that harmonica player some!

From a collection of classical 8 tracks I transferred. Capriccio Italien by Tchaikovsky. A  huge variety of
sonic textures here: brass, strings galore, bells.

If we can make Peter Ilych sound this boss, just think how great we can make your old Lynyrd Skynyrd 8
tracks sound!
